Mayuka was one of the participants in the survival show Nizi Project. During the show, she used to experience ups and downs while competing with the other contestants, but she eventually made it. Through one of the show’s clips, Mayuka got praised by Park Jin-young due to her confidence and how amazing she was while performing. Mayuka’s Debut with NiziU
After the show Nizi Project ended, Mayuka was able to make a debut with the girl group named NiziU with the other participants under JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment. The group consists of nine members including Mayuka, and officially debuted on December 2nd, 2020, by releasing a single titled “Step and a Step”.
For those of you who don’t know, NiziU is the first Japanese girl group that has signed under JYP Entertainment. Before the group’s official debut, Mayuka and the other members released a pre-debut album Make You Happy on June 30th, 2020. The girls made a comeback in 2021 with the single “Take a Picture/Poppin’ Shakin’”.
