Sanggyun Debut as a ToppDogg/Xeno-T Member
Kim Sanggyun debuted as a member of ToppDogg, a boy group that was launched in 2013. He used the stage name A-Tom. Later on, Kim Sanggyun took a hiatus from ToppDog in 2017 and joined Produce 101 Season 2. He only managed to rank 26th, but many fans loved him and they persuaded him to debut with the project group JBJ. In February 2018, ToppDog changed their name to Xeno-T, but the group included five other members. In fact, Kim Sanggyun was not a part of the new lineup. Active as JBJ and JBJ95
Under Star Road Entertainment, JBJ95 was born and debuted on October 30th, 2018, with their mini-album Home. Before making JBJ85, they participated in the group project called JBJ, the name submitted by fans after they finished Produce 101 Season 2. JBJ was the project group including six trainee members from Produce 101 Season 2 that failed to make it to the final lineup. The lineup of JBJ included Kwon Hyunbin, Roh Taehyun, Kim Donghan, Takada Kenta, Kim Sanggyun, and Kim Yongguk (Jin Longguo). JBJ debuted in October 2017 and were contracted for only seven months so they disbanded in April 2018. Despite JBJ being active only for a short time, JBJ obtained a good fanbase and succeeded in winning a trophy from one of the South Korean music awards in Music Bank with their lead track “My Flower”. After JBJ, Kenta and Sanggyun united. As both Kenta and Sanggyu were born in 1995, JBJ rebranded adding ‘95’ to the name of the group.
