X-Man
X-Man is a game show that held from November 8, 2003, to April 8, 2007. X-Man was hosted by Yoo Jae-suk, Kang Ho-do, and Kim Je-dong and getting hits from 2004-2006. Yoo Jae suk only did this game show in Season 1, and then on the season 2, he replaced Kim Je-dong as lead host. X-Man is a variety show that often consists of various physical and mental games during the season. X-Man also became Good Sunday than in 2007 replaced as X-Man Good Sunday. Happy Together (Season 1-4)
Yoo Jae-suk also becomes a host in Happy Together. Happy Together is a South Korean talk show held in November 2001, and become the most popular show on KBS from 2002-2003. Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Je-song became the partner MC with five other guests. On Season 1, they have to recite the children’s song with a human-sized keyboard that was hanging from the ceiling. They needed to push the assigned note by using their head. Such a challenge and fun! The slogan of Season 1 is “목요일 밤의 행복한 만남, 해피투게더!” (Thursday nights happy meeting, Happy Together!) Season 2 still hosted by Yoo Jae-suk but with Eugene and Tak Jae-hoon. In this season, the celebrities need to find their former schoolmates even though it seems more relatable. Because showing the feeling and nostalgic event, the rate of Season 2 is not good as Season 1, which only passed 10-18%. The slogan on this season is: “친구가 있어, 행복한 목요일, 해피투게더 프렌즈!” (Because friends are here, Thursday is happy, Happy Together Friends!) On Season 3, the host or MC gets to dress like a female and doing the challenge in school-themed games. The slogan on this season is 함께하면 더욱 행복한 목요일 밤, 해피투게더!” (A Thursday night that will be happier if spent together, Happy Together!) Season 4 will be aired from October 11, 2020, in the upcoming month.
Infinite Challenge (Season 1-4)
Infinity Challenge is a reality show that contains several challenges with some of the celebrities as guest stars started in November 2006. This Infinity Challenge hosted by Yoo Jae-suk gets to be the most popular variety show. It has been successful and now called “the nation’s variety show.” Infinite Challenge made Yoo Jae-suk more popular and hits since the program is engaging to people and contains satirical comedy with 3D, which is Dirty, Dangerous, and Difficult.
Family Outing (Season 1)
Family Outing is part of Good Sunday that contains a comedy-reality show. This was aired on June 15, 2008, hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and other cast members the same as the reality show X-Man. Yoo Jae-suk becomes the host on the concept of traveling family to different parts of South Korea, making a difference to the house of an elderly family who goes on vacation. So, the challenge is the “family” will replace the homeowner’s task.
Running Man
Who didn’t know Running Man? Yoo Jae-suk became one of the lead hosts on this popular show that has been spread all over Asia. Running Man gets launched on July 11, 2010, as “urban action variety,” which is an urban environment reality show. As the main MC on this program, he gathered the attention as he left Good Sunday’s Family Outing variety show. This show was to inviting guest stars, and they will challenge the host and guest stars to do some games. Due to his popularity, the Running Man show has been translated into several languages such as English, Persian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Malay, Indonesian, Burmese, Arabic, Russian, and Turkish.
I Am a Man
I am a Man is the South Korean talk show that is often called Yoo Jae-suk. I am a Man variety show was first broadcasted on April 7, 2014, and ended on December 19, 2014. The purpose of the show is intended for male audiences, but females also allowed to watch “secretly.” Yoo Jae-suk is not alone as the host on the show. He did this along with Im Won-hee, Kwon Oh-Joong, Jang Dong-min, and Heo Kyung-Hwa. I’m a Man has rating 4.2% nationwide yet and has slightly drop 5.2% on August 8 as quoted from Nielsen Korea.
