Before Yeori became a Rising Star Entertainment artist, she joined Star Empire Entertainment as a trainee from 2017 until 2019. Yeori has another name, that is Choi Ji-yeon (최지연). She used her stage name Jiyeon (Choi Ji-yeon) during her training days. But then, in October 2018, she decided to change it again into her birthname Choi Yeori. Yeori has one older sister and one older brother. She was born in Mok-dong, Yangcheon, Seoul, South Korea. She auditioned for MIXNINE, but she failed to pass the audition. Yeori was the last member that joined Star Empire Entertainment. Choi Yeori was a trainee for two years: from 2017 to 2019. Because she is the main dancer of the group, she got the nickname Dancing Queen. Yeori’s favorite color is red. She really likes Sundubu-jjigae (순두부찌개) which mean Korean spicy tofu soup. She has a unique habit when she sleeps: when she is delirious she is throwing stuff that are nearby and she is also snoring.

On ARIAZ’s YouTube channel with the name ARIAZ, this main dancer often does dance covers of various K-Pop groups’ songs. She often does dance covers to show her talent and also practices her dancing skills. As in the video below, she did a dance cover of the song “FIESTA” originally sung by IZ*ONE. This video was uploaded on March 24th, 2020.
In the video above, Yeori wears a plaid miniskirt with a white blouse which makes her look so cute, plus her black long hair is tied in a ponytail. Yeori is displaying her dancing skills full of expressions and with a sweet bright smile. Unfortunately, the duration of this video is only 1 minute and 43 seconds; even her fans think that this video is too short and they are not satisfied because they still miss Yeori. ARIAZ’s Yeori’s Pre-debut Story As a Mixnine Contestant
Before debuting with ARIAZ, Yeori took part in the survival show MIXNINE which was a collaboration program between YG Entertainment and Golden Age Media. This program was aired on JTBC and showed YG Entertainment founder as a member of the judges. The winners of the show would get the opportunity to debut as new idols. The initial participants’ number was up to 400 from 70 various agencies, and then after the audition, only 170 trainees would be selected to compete against each other. In 2017, Choi Yeori used the stage name Choi Jiyeon and did the audition for this survival show. She introduced herself as a Star Empire Entertainment trainee along with several other ARIAZ members and other trainees. Choi Yeori appeared in MIXNINE Episode 7. She and some other Star Empire Entertainment trainees auditioned and showed their singing and dancing skills in front of YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk. If we see from the video above, Yeori is standing in the 2nd place from the left side and she wears a white long-sleeved t-shirt with a plaid white-black shirt tied around her waist. She and the other trainees introduced themselves cheerfully and very passionately, then they showed their talents by singing “Back It Up” from their senior group Jewelry. She sang it with a cute face and a sweet voice. Unfortunately, she failed to pass the audition, and only two trainees from her agency passed the audition.

After debuting with ARIAZ in 2019 with the release of their 1st mini-album Grand Opera, with two singles “Moonlight Aria” and “Where U R”, it seems that in 2020, there haven’t been any signs of the group making their next comeback. Even though there’s no schedule for a comeback, Yeori and the group often upload videos on their YouTube channel regarding their latest activities such as cover songs, dance covers, vlogs, and others. As did Yeori and the members on August 3rd, 2020: they did a dance cover guided by one of their seniors.
